Pardon Our Appearance!
This month we began re-merchandising our store using fixtures that will be easier to shop and improving the appearance of our store. We currently are only half done and still need to organize the men’s footwear department but our staff has adapted very well to the change and has been a huge help! Please don’t hesitate to visit and we hope you like what we’ve done.
Vermont Troops Support
This month we will begin accepting items for care packages for our Vermont neighbors serving abroad and who will miss the upcoming holidays. In order to show our support please bring items they can use such as beef jerkey, disposable razors, disposable cameras, greeting cards to send to loved ones at home, lip baum, hand wipes, wrapped hard candy, etc. Sportshoe Center has teamed up with the Vermont National Guard Family Readiness Program to see these care packages are sent to our deserving soldiers and airmen.

Rx Program
General Manager & Buyer Christopher Ouellette has begun renewing our relationships with professionals in the area who deal with physical therapy and foot issues. After nearly ten years Sportshoe Center has become a highly recommended store by these professionals for their patients to get the shoes they need. When their patient is recommended to our store using the script our staff can fit them to the right shoe and offer a 10% discount on their purchase. We appreciate these referrals and look forward to serving each patient.

Galloway Running Program
Recently Kara Bolton led a team of runners on weekly runs using the Galloway method to train for running events while minimizing stress and body injury. I am pleased to report that we had 6 participants this season, led by Galloway alum Kathleen Williams, training for either the Leaf Peepers Half Marathon on Oct. 4, or the Shelburne Farms Half Marathon on Nov. 8. Three of our participants have successfully finished the Leaf Peepers Half marathon, while having a great time doing it. They are eagerly waiting for The Shelburne Farms Half Marathon to see if they can have as great a race a second time. The next Galloway session is tentatively scheduled to train for the Vermont City Marathon 2 person relay.
